The Power of Two!

My dear “Kit”! (The one and only Gwen at The Kintsukuroi Life!) Has nominated me for not one, but two awards. TWO! I must say, after two trying weeks; medication issues, health issues, and days in bed, my attitude has just done a 360-degree turnaround! (Two is now a friendly number!) Thank you, Gwen! You are my cup of coffee every morning!

I happened upon a blog called the Kintsukuroi Life about 6 months ago and could not get enough. Gwen (I call her “Kit”) is passionate, take no prisoners, kind of writer. We often play off each other’s blog comments leading to discussions that must be blogged! Thank you, Kit, for the nominations, and I will gladly accept!

Ten Questions (Both Awards) from Gwen:

  1. What changes would you like to see in the world within the next ten years? Well, I would have to say we find some “cures” to some of the invisible illnesses as I am a chronic illness blogger! (Free maid service would be helpful as well.)
  2. Do you own any pets? If so, what kind? Yes! I currently have two Goldendoodles. A three-year-old tan one named Dezzie and a silver-colored one name Dora who is 12.
  3. What is your least liked thing about blogging? I really like blogging, but I am always concerned that I am putting out the correct information. I want my blog to be a place where questions can be asked and answered. I just don’t want to make a mistake!
  4. How in touch are you with your surroundings? Oh my, I’m a Virgo! If a curtain is not hanging correctly, I can’t go to bed until I’ve fixed it! I also have complete strangers tell me their life stories in public restrooms. I’m glad to help!
  5. What is your favorite social media site? Ted Talks. I just can’t help it!
  6. Do you wake up early or like to sleep late? I hardly ever sleep, such an unfair question! I tend to sleep whenever I can… sometimes this is at the most inopportune times!
  7. Where would you most like to visit and why? I love visiting the islands in the Gulf of Mexico! I love the people, the language, the colors, the water… I just love that area!
  8. If you could have a drink (can be water) with anyone alive or dead, who would you choose? Claire Booth Luce! She was everything there was to be in her time. She did it all! I would love to have just spent an afternoon with her, listening to her fabulous tales.
  9. What is your favorite book? The Book of Spirits by Isabel Allende hands down! Then this leads to any book by Allende. She is a phenomenal writer!
  10. If you could be any animal what would you be? I guess some big cat … living in Africa. A lion, leopard, or cheetah.

Three Interesting Things About Me (Mystery Blogger):

It is harder than it seems, I assure you, to think of three interesting things that haven’t been shared yet in any awards. (I agree, Gwen!)

  1. I married a man who knew me since the day I was born. We grew up in a small town of 400 people. Our parents were best friends. Therefore, our families hung out a lot together. We both went our separate ways after high school graduation, but we always remained friends. We officially began dating in 2003 and were married in 2004.
  2. I have a brother who is adopted. At age nine, Kory Jon Severson (Kim Jung Hun) arrived in America at the MPLS/St. Paul Airport to find his newly adopted family of seven eagerly waiting for him. (Unfortunately, we lost Kory to a very aggressive form of cancer in 2003.)
  3. I was a director of one of the most extensive work release facilities for men in Seattle, Washington for five years.

  1. Congrats on the TWO well-deserved awards! How greedy of you! 😀
I would love to see doggy photos – I’m obsessed, having wanted a golden retriever for so long, I feel bereft at the thought it may never happen. I like to then live vicariously with other peoples dogs!
Thank you so much for the kind nomination. Lovely to get to know you a bit better with random questions like these 🙂
