What About You? (Sunday Quick Questions #15)

We answer ‘quick questions’ here on I Tripped Over a Stone on Sundays.

Because… I blog. I get sick of me. I want to hear from you!

Don’t think, just answer!

  1. Did you ever fly a kite?
  2. Have you ever cut your own hair?
  3. Can you water ski?

  1. Yes!
  2. Yes, and I’m sorry.
  3. Yes, but it’s not pretty. Now I just drive the boat.

  1. 1. Yes, but it flew away on day one.
    2. One time I was going to but the scissors were right-handed and I am 100% left-handed.
    3. I think I could but haven’t had the chance.

  2. Wait! I thought you cut your own hair now!, why are you sorry?

1, Yes, not very well, but it was made out of newspaper and twine.
2, I don’t think so. My mom was a stylist so I was set for free haircuts for a very long time. If she didn’t do it, someone she worked with did. I’ve cut other people’s hair, but not mine.
    3. No! It was a very popular thing to do where I grew up, but I never had the desire to be drug around behind a boat trying to defy the laws of physics by staying afloat on extra long toothpicks. 😳😆

    1. “Long toothpicks”!!! Haha Haha! Oh! When my hair was long, I finally learned how to cut it by watching YouTube videos. Since I got it cut short, I can’t cut it myself, especially… this is the I’m sorry part… my bangs! OMG. Cool your mom was a stylist. Jealous! My friends mom was a stylist and she always had the cutest hair styles. The kites you make yourself are the best! Except the octopus kites, have you seen those? The tentacles fill with air and float too! Amaze-balls! 😊💜

  3. 1. When I was still Tiny Tom my brother and I used to fly kites all the time. He was REALLY good at it and I wasn’t, and he was an unapologetic bully, so he made kite-flying a regrettable occurrence with his ace dog-fighting skills. And, yes, my favorite kite was the Marvel superheroes one. 😉

    2. On which part of the body?

    3. When I was Teenage Tom I had a buddy invite me to the lake with his family, so I went. The entire family – my buddy, the host, his wife, their friends – were all insanely good water-skiers. I could not, and for the most part still cannot, swim. But, you know, what the hell. I put on the life-jacket and got dragged through the wake several times the first day (and lost one of my contacts in the water). It was embarrassing. On the second day, on my third attempt, I got up! For most of the rest of that day whenever anyone said “who’s next?” I’d say “Me!” whenever I could. It was a blast and I had fun until the next day when one of the “experts,” Ray, broke his thumb getting tangled in the ski rope and we had to pull him out of the water and transport him to the hospital. From then on I had had my fill of water skiing, could always say I “used to” water ski and never felt the urge to try again. 🙂

(All stories are above are true, though names may have been changed to protect the innocent 😎)

    1. Tiny Tom, I flew kites with my big brothers too. Shit ain’t fair.

As for hair cutting… I assume you groom, thank you!

Teenage Tom, we took “townies” to our lake home and put them on skis just for fun. My brothers were damn good skiers, and their kids are too. They start at 5 or 6 on skis that are especially made for little ones and a rope that is held by the spotter in the boat. Anywho-o-o! I was the one that ended up in the ER. AND I can’t swim either. Did I mention shit ain’t fair?😂🤣😂🤣

Thanks Tom, the hubby’s waiting impatiently to hear your answers!

  4. 1. I used to with my parents when I was a kid. Sometimes we’d get Sunday afternoons together when they weren’t working so we could go to the hills and do random things, including flying the world’s most pathetic kite. But I loved it!
    2. Yes, when I was in high school. I was too cool back then.
    3. No, James Bond I am not. Impressive that you can though, and that you can drive a boat. Is ‘drive’ the right word? My brain is mush. I guess you don’t ride it, so yeah, let’s go for ‘drive’ the boat.

    1. Home made kites! Perfect. I bet you WERE too cool for school, even. You haircutting machine! I could water ski, I was horrible and therefore didn’t like it which was just fine with my brothers cause they wanted to ski so I got put in the drivers seat and told to “hit it!” You slam the throttle down and away you go… pulling the skier. … just like Bond, Kim Bond. (This week, my Wednesday post is signed 007. And I say I feel like a lady spy…) wild you mention Bond for this post! Are you peeking at my scheduled posts??? 🤣😂🤣😂🤫
